The SPACECAR Prototype was designed on a whimsical “racecar roguelike!?” kind of idea. The racetrack generates randomly in front of the car, peppered with pickups and enemies. Points are accumulated by driving forwards, picking up pickups, and destroying enemies. Getting points gives you a small amount of fuel, and running out of fuel causes your car to explode.

The physics are “lumpy” and the track pieces don’t always fit together as smoothly as better games. Sometimes the scripts cause the wheels to teleport into the track, dragging the rest of the car with it…I call this an unexpected and emergent enemy/death condition. Exporting the game removes these scripts causing the wheels to fall off completely…so I can’t share the prototype itself. You’re just going to have to trust me…Built in the Blender 3D Suite internal game engine.
